Bad Design in Hip-hop

I just read a well written review of "Non-Stop Hip Hop: The Videos" and was struck by this line:

"First off, the packaging is laughable, if not offensive: With its pseudo-graffiti proclamation, "The Hottest Jamz Eva!", and bandana-and -Mike-Vick-jersey-clad G-Thang on the cover, it plays into the most basic hip-hop stereotypes"
I always considered bad design of hip-hop products by people who don't understand our culture to be silly and laughable. But offensive? No. Though maybe I should.

That's why I'm making sure my new blog looks good.

And props to Tonedeff for producing great examples of good web design.

First, let me say that this is a good exercise book. The writer, Mark Jenkins doesn't push gimmicks or shortcuts. And the results of Mark's advice can be seen on D'Angelo (the old D', not the new D'), Mary J. Blige, and P.... [Read More]

Using frames is NOT good web design... they are the devil's spawn - and having background music switched on without you asking is also not good...

Alchemist, known for his production with
Mobb Deep, Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Jadakiss and Dilated Peoples., is preparing a compilation album titled 1st Infantry.
Mixing East Coast and West Coast, keeping the hip hop industry on there toes. With slamming beats and hardcore rhymes the first single is titled Cant Hold You Down featuring Prodigy and the Alchemist himself.

yes, I agree. To those who don't understand the true nature of hiphop, please stop trying to imitate their fashion styles.
