Actually, i have a question. my friend says that there was an 80's rap group that apparently had a midget in it. he said they were even on an episode of Martin. if someone can let me know if this group really existed and what their name was, i'd greatly apreciate it.

i have some videoclips with ed, dre, t-money, fab5freddy hosting the yo mtv raps show of the year 93/94. i only recorded the parts without the music videos , only the part in which dre, ed, t money, fab5freddy talk funny stuff & talk a lot of shit :-) and a lot more stuff like the first wu tang interview ever on mtv by fab5freddy & many other stuff

Hey,
I know this is going to sound kind of off the mark but...my friend and I are trying to figure out what this one song is. All we really have to go on is that it was really big in the early 90's and was on MTV all the time. The guy in it was wearing a bowlers hat and it had a trumpet in the main part. Can anyone help us out?

Yo, I do remember almost all YO! MTV RAPS shows between May 1991 through August 1995, and I am still keeping hold of 'em, and I think I will always do 'cause I'm a music fanatic, especially a fan of 1980's and 1990's music!! But what I can do is makin' copies for certain people! I would like to have the song "I like it" by Grand Puba from his 1995 album "2000".
(At least as an MP3 file, anyone help me, please, can't find it anywhere)
The song "I like it" was big hit on YO! Mtv Raps exactly 10 years ago to the month, in June of 1995!
To all those who don't know what time it is, concerning the show YO! Mtv Raps: it was on air beween August of 1988 until August of 1995, exactly for 7 years that is! The show was started and hosted by Fab Five Freddy a.k.a. Fred Brathwaite outta Brooklyn, N.Y., U.S.A.
And some time during the summer of '89 Doctor Dré, Ed Lover & of course, last but not least, T-Money joined Fab 5 Freddy and became host of that particular show as well!
I know all that, because I'm a time witness, y'all!! I'll be 29 this month, know what I mean? But like I mentioned befo' , I'm a classic Rap fanatic. I like Slick Rick a lot, especially his video "Teenage Love" from 1988. Anybody out there got the 411 on Slick? Did he get deported back to England by now?

Great message board, good to know there's so many like minded fans out there.
I've got a few vhs dubs of the classic 91-92 years, but there are 2 songs that i heard (around 91) on YO MTV RAPS, with some guy rapping and the chorus sampling "he can't shake her...shake her....he can't shake her love"
The second one was called tibettan/jamaican funk (i think?) and had two girls rapping (a bit reggae like) and i'm sure they were called louie lou (but not the popular artist louie lou)
Anybody else remember these forgotten classics?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
